I should update my review - the squirrels have figured out how to get to my bird feeder despite the little one clinging to the pole. Basically, squirrels climb up the pole quickly, fast enough not to hit the skin hard. I think the problem would have been solved with a larger diameter coil as her feet couldn't reach the bar past the coils. I will buy the original larger diameter version and try again. I tried the younger version first, thinking it would be less unsightly. ---------------- PREVIOUS: Purchased to keep squirrels out of the bird feeder; works perfectly!
