Requested this because I have a full size mic stand for the amp mic and it's too big. This little guy seemed to be a good size, although he wasn't made specifically for it. The base is a decent weight and there's no boom, so the tip shouldn't be a problem unless you hit it pretty hard. Certainly not. high as expected, but high enough to connect the mic to a boosted combo amp (see image). The included accessories look pretty cheap, but everything seems to be fine. Grip release mechanism, it was easy enough to install my mic (see pic). Ironically, the screw holding it in place is more secure than the original shock mount on the expensive mic I used. The pop screen is generic and not specifically designed for this rack as it is too long. But it has a double-walled fabric/mesh wall that offers excellent protection against explosives, and you can slide it neatly into place. The main microphone clip is very simple and holds the Shure SM57 securely. An affordable desktop podcasting setup (as long as you don't have table vibrations to worry about), this seems like a decent choice. Although the bar could be better. For an inexpensive small mic stand for drum kits or guitar cabinets, it's small enough to fit in tight spaces for close mic placement. I like it. It's not perfect and the quality of the accessories comes at a price, but in the studio it's a good thing to have.
