Review on 💦 MSI MAG CORELIQUID 360R: Advanced Rotatable Blockhead Design with 360mm Radiator and Triple 120mm aRGB PWM Fans - AIO CPU Liquid Cooler by Nicole Slotnick

The first thing to say is that I did not build a slot machine, mine is designed for creating multimedia. So it doesn't always run at full capacity, but has peak loads when the CPU quickly ramps up its power consumption. Mine cools an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor. They have a TDP of 105W, although I haven't seen mine go over 80W. The rated power consumption is typically around 50 W at 37 °C. With the 360mm heatsink and MSI MAG AIO, I didn't see the CPU go above 67C and that was during Adobe After Effects' process of rendering pixel data in 4K at 60fps. . Designing frames is different than presenting, it's a stressful process. After Effects doesn't seem to be using any appreciable chunk of the GPU for this, so it's quite a CPU-intensive feature. Keeping the CPU temperature below 70°C under load is quite a comfortable vacation. And fans driven directly by the motherboard CPU fan maintain a fairly stable low speed during these changes. This way the cooler has enough headroom for some of the most intense CPU operations. The 5950X now has 16 cores, so a processor with fewer cores running the same processes might experience higher temperatures, but I would expect this cooling solution to still work. The fans are quiet. I wound it up as a test before installing it and its noise wasn't too loud while my ears were only a foot away, so in that case it should stay pretty quiet at around 4 feet. The specs say they'll deliver up to 73 CFM, but MSI doesn't elaborate on whether that's a total number or the expected performance of each individual fan. This value is more typical for a single fan. The LEDs are quite bright and bright. The photo doesn't really capture it properly, but it's up to the camera, not the fans. The MSI logo on the CPU water block looks very cool when it lights up. I didn't try to use many LEDs initially, but there is an LED driver in the package, so I figured a few would be fine - and it's actually easier to find LED AIO coolers than non-LED coolers . The kit includes three 120mm fans. They could easily be replaced with any set of 120mm fans, but only for aesthetic reasons. This kit comes with fans so those are the ones I went with. Mine has only been up and running for four days since the original build. So if problems are found I will come back to this review. So far I am happy with this system. It keeps the CPU at temperature, is well designed, and relatively easy to install (if you're mounting on the top of the case, do that part last, or the fans could interfere with other components on the motherboard). I recommend laying the motherboard flat to install the cooling head on the AMD AM4 socket, otherwise you might curse gravity for long periods of inactivity. This kit does not include thermal paste. You will need that too. The LED connector requires 5V power, so keep that in mind when using LEDs.
