I was troubleshooting a 500 foot Category 5e Ethernet cable that ran the entire length of a condo underground parking garage runs. There are a few connectors along the entire length of the cable. I needed a tool to measure cable length and continuity. I was initially suspicious of this tool as it cost $50 compared to Fluke's $600 cable tester. This tool worked flawlessly, quickly locating a broken wire using the length detection feature and checking wire continuity after the repair was complete.
