Review on πŸ’‘ Riteav 15A 4 HDMI Wall Plate: Power Outlet, Cat5e Ethernet, Coax Cable TV - Black by Jeff Rhodes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not flush with the wall!

Bezel does not touch the wall after installation. The side of the HDMI port is thicker plastic and is farther from the wall than the metal outlet next to it, resulting in the bezel being about 1/16 inch from the wall on one side. It's time to install something like this, so take my word for it and choose another product. It gets 2 stars because it works well, but it looks like shit when it's not touching the wall. Update: I sanded down the front fairing a bit. along the edges to be able to bring the front panel closer to the wall. It's looking good now. I used a dremel tool to sand down the "breasts" from the underside of the wall panel and also sand down the screw holes on the plastic bracket. This allowed the panel to be positioned closer to the wall, but that wasn't enough. I then used a caliper to measure the original thickness (0.165") and grind the leading edges to (0.1"). The wall plate is now firmly attached to the wall as it originally should have been. I'm keeping my rating at 2 stars (instead of 1) because it gets the job done, but it took about 30 minutes to fix the bugs. . It's a good design and after reading some other 1 star reviews of similar products this seems to be a common problem. Seller Note: RiteAV needs to understand that this is poorly designed and needs an overhaul. I basically solved the problem for them as well by sharing my method above.
