When I bought this toaster in May I was very happy with it. It toasted evenly and appeared to be a good toaster, if a bit pricey. Now six months later I am back to buy another toaster as this Cuisinart rose and died last Sunday morning. I put in two slices of toast and noticed a white flash in two of the slots as I pushed the lever to lower the bread. That white lightbulb was a dying heater. The two slots on the left side of the toaster now only toast one side of the bread. Since the return window is only a month away and I didn't feel like contacting customer service with something as simple as a toaster, I gave it to a neighbor who didn't care if it didn't work properly. I think she only needs to toast two slices of bread at a time. In our family we have to make four. This toaster looks great but the handles are very flimsy and dangle. But most importantly, it doesn't last long. General. Six months and it's deader than Jacob Marley. I cannot recommend this toaster. I ordered a replacement Krups which is $10 less and has better reviews. I hope I have better luck with this one. If not, I'll go back to Sunbeams with a plastic case. They might not last long, but at least they're cheap! Stay away from that toaster. It doesn't cost any money.
