They are made from an unknown Chinese material. Definitely inferior metal. They have to do their job. Installed on a 2018 Versys 650 mainly to keep the wind out of my hands. Versys needs minor guards to clear the tank when fully clogged and they clean well. The installation was a bit cumbersome, but it is always there on the universal protective covers. For those having trouble installing, tip #1 for universal guards (or really any part): Do not tighten more than finger tight until all parts are in place. Bars and about in position.
