Cute but not waterproof

As this is a teething toy I washed it with soap and water before giving it to my 9 month old baby. Water enters through the purple loop attachment where the mirror and beads are located. It is impossible to expel all the water, this will cloud the mirror and cause the beads to stick together. Who invented a teething toy that can't be washed? Now that this is the perfect place for mold to grow, I'll probably be disposing of it soon, even though I've only just bought it. waste $5. Otherwise it's very cute. My child seems to enjoy it and it distracts her from picking up my phone.
