My Schnoodle is incredibly dense and despite its small size, weighs 20 pounds. He had knee surgery and a mile walk is his limit so I wanted to buy a backpack to carry him. I decided to order this product after speaking to several pet shops and they all confirmed that this size would be sufficient after measuring front to back and toe to head. First, it's not very good. If we had a harness, we could put him in a carrier with the net open and his head sticking out. The height of the backpack really isn't fully accessible to the head as it's very narrow at the top. Second, and most important to me, as a backpack, this product is awful! Terribly uncomfortable. You wouldn't even want to wear it empty - it's that bad. While the feeling of the handlebars going through the pack is initially uncomfortable, I think padding could be fitted to deal with it. What you can't take is the wheels banging in your back. I would say your dog needs to be really small and even then don't buy one to use as a backpack.
