Review on Hydro 5 Razor by Schick by Renee Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A Fusion fan who is now a happy Schick Hydro user

Have been using Gillette blades for over 30 years. A few years ago, I attended Gillette's three-month consumer test of a new razor and blade system and have a pretty good idea of what to look for and how to rank in a razor system. I've always considered them the best out there, especially after trying a different brand from time to time and then going back to Gillette. However, Gillette blade prices have become completely unreasonable. Additionally, the durability of the new Fusion blades leaves much to be desired, which could indicate quality control issues. I rarely get more than 5 shaves with a Fusion blade before it dulls resulting in a bad and uncomfortable shave. Gillette's recent price increase made me look again for an alternative brand. I tried a few brands and wasn't satisfied. Then I came across the Schick Hydro 5. i fell in love with him This shaving system offers an excellent shave at a very reasonable price. The blades are significantly cheaper than Gillette and last twice as long. I can typically get 10 shaves with a single blade, after which performance drops. The Schick Hydro Pen is a different weight and balance than the Fusion and took a few days to get used to, but now I find it to be just as good if not better than the Gillette. The razor head glides more evenly over my skin, even when I shave against the grain. And it has a smart little safety pad on the top that lets you open the top blades to trim under your nose and other hard-to-reach places. If you asked me 6 months ago if I used a non-Gillette razor. My answer would be "no". Schick Hydro changed my mind and I'm very happy. I get a better shave for a much lower price than Gillette.
