My fridge is sticking out from behind the cabinets. After a refrigerator gave up the ghost due to a suspected lightning strike, we fitted our new one with surge protection. It was a bright black that made the fridge stick out at least an inch. I started searching and came across this recessed surge protector. I'm pretty confident in a simple DIY. It was a single outlet that had to be converted to a double outlet to accommodate that surge protector. It's amazing how much of an inch or two of difference it makes when it comes to how far the fridge sticks out.
