Loved the mount and how well it supports my LG G3. I wasn't sure if I liked the extra weight of the metal plate on my phone, but it wasn't too bad. The panel was thin enough to fit over the battery and still cover the back cover. However, this slim phone case doesn't hold the phone very well so I put the plate in the case and it worked fine. After about a week, I noticed that the bracket in the CD slot (on my 2004 Nissan Titan) wobbled more and more. Turning the screw about half a turn caused the area around the screw to crack and the threaded nut to fall out, rendering the mount unusable. Fortunately, getting it back via Revain was easy. By the way, I found that it is not possible to use nfc with the disk installed in the case. The dish blocked the signal quite badly. NFC did it themselves when the plate was installed in the phone's cover. But then the magnet wasn't strong enough to hold the phone with the case on. And I didn't want to be idle! If you don't care about NFC, then that's no problem. I will post photos of the broken bracket soon. Update: 12/22/15 Some time after returning the mount, the guys (new management/owners) at InfiniApps contacted me and sent me an updated version of this mount. I've had the new version in my truck for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say it's a lot better. I haven't had to tighten the screw that tensions the CD slot yet and the magnet or magnets appear to have been improved as well. Also, the metal plates attached to your phone (or sandwiched between the phone and case, like mine) feel a lot lighter and thinner. It also comes with 2 rectangular plates and a small round plate which is nice. I use a rectangular plate. The new design is smaller than the old version and protrudes less from the dash than the old one, which probably helps the mount stay in place better. The ball mount doesn't have tension knobs but is stiff enough to hold the phone at an angle to me when I'm driving and not moving. Time will tell how long it lasts but looks like it will be good for a long time. I would rate this 5 stars but the fact that installing a metal plate on the back of my phone blocks NFC is the only issue I have. This is really a minor issue and might not be an issue depending on where the NFC touch point is on your phone. Of course, if you don't use NFC then this is a great mount. As an alternative, I could probably stick a mental plate in the phone next to the battery, but with a case the phone doesn't hold up as well as it does now. Overall, I'm very impressed with the updated version. I'm torn between using this mount all the time or using the one touch iOttie. Both are great mounts, but very different in how they work.
