**Edit** It's been about 2 years and I had to buy a replacement. The original one I bought got soaked and stopped working. It wasn't the fault of the block but where I installed it. The new block is no different from the old. I replaced it and the new one works great again. Still a great buy. This controller can't be beat for the price. I have a small hot tub with an old manual temperature control that didn't show the temperature. It became inaccurate with age so I bought it as a spare. Packed in a cardboard box as shown in the photos, with connection instructions and a temperature sensor. The probe was smaller than I expected, but that wasn't a problem. The probe cable is quite long (probably 4 feet or so, but I haven't measured it). The keys feel solid and the display is large enough to be easy to read. Connecting the controller was easy and the supplied schematic was correct. After plugging it in, it turned on and read the temp normally. It turns on and off as expected and all functions work. It would be nice if it had the option to turn it on or off manually but still show the temperature, but it seems to have all the other features I need. The temperature setting works well and is easy to do. The setup codes are difficult to remember, but the instructions that come with the kit explain them. It was nice to find a setting to fine-tune the temperature display, it was off by a few degrees (probably due to location rather than sensor accuracy) and I was able to adjust it. All in all I would recommend this.
