:( Adjustment tabs will not fit under 14. My son is 11. Thin and tall, these shorts tend to be long. The trouser leg is wide on the narrow side and the waist was about 1.5" too big for him. So I sewed an extra button in the front, which makes the crotch a bit narrower, but not very noticeable, interestingly enough the fabric of the black shorts differs from the tan colors, it's much stiffer and thicker I bought all 3 colors my son is 5ft 2in and about 80lbs
