This is my first time using TPU. I have seen many videos and tried to order it from another seller that I like but it was out of stock. I decided to give it a try because it's so cheap (compared to other TPUs). First, TPU appears to be more hydrophilic than PETG. The spool was sealed well with a silica gel pouch, but on the very first print I got a slight pop and hiss, like wet filament. Not sure if this is from the factory or just being in humid summer air is enough to make it a little damp when printed. It's not that bad and doesn't seem to affect the print, but I hear a click and hiss every 2 or 3 seconds. Secondly, I read and watched a lot of videos before starting, so I was really concerned that I would have problems with my Bowden setup. That's one of the reasons I've waited so long. However, for the TPU modification, I only inserted a short piece of tubing between the extruder heater and the fitting that holds the Bowden tubing to the extruder. So far everything has printed perfectly. The finish prints are glossy and translucent and beautifully soft. I didn't do any functional prints but used about half a roll of different octopuses. My first two prints were probably a bit hot as other prints are glossier. I also made them with 33% and 12% fill. The first was very difficult to squeeze out, almost like a superball. The second is easier to compress, but still not quite "soft". Then I decided to just go all in with 0% infill. I also lowered the temp to 215 and the finished product is much better. Because I use Bowden, my maximum print speed is only 20mm and most of my prints are 10-15mm. stretch and build bridges to deal with it. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get rid of the tension, especially with a bowden cable, but it's really no big deal, especially on the prints I've made. I'd say usually a dozen lines or less on the outside of the print. The hollow interior has more, but you can't really see it. All in all I'm very happy with it and will be ordering more colors.
