This is a wonderful coat. The sleeves are lined with nylon for easy on and off. Quilted material provides extra warmth. Fleece on the bottom of the sleeve cuffs provides extra warmth. There is no drawstring for the hood, but Rothschild have included a small elastic band on the sides of the hood to keep it on the child's head. Craftsmanship as usual from Rothschild. I would have no hesitation in sending my grandson to play in the snow in this coat. I ordered the 4T and it's perfect for wearing a pair of dungarees under a coat when you have to play in the snow. The fur is swollen all over, but not so much that you find it difficult
