This is a great tool. It's made in the USA, so it won't rust like Chinese stainless steel. Well made with molded plastic handle. Revane had the wrong picture, now the picture is right. It's made from 1/16" thick brushed steel and is very durable. The edge is roughly ground but sharp enough to slice pizza. It can be easily sharpened to a very sharp state, use a few tablespoons of olive oil and salt until translucent and soft, add tomato sauce, a little more olive oil, pepper, salt to taste, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes (or longer if you prefer a drier sauce) This is my grandmother's recipe This is the main sauce, into which you can add things like mushrooms, sausage, herbs, etc. or it's a great layer.It works with canned or fresh tomatoes too.It can be frozen in serving containers for several months.
