Update - after the second replacement pump sprang a leak in the same location as the first, I decided to try to repair it rather than returning it. I unscrewed the two halves of the pump housing, using a 3/16" allen wrench, and took the pump housing apart. Turns out an o-ring had come out of its groove. I coated the o-ring with vaseline to keep it in place, put the o-ring back in its groove, and re-assembled the pump housing. The pump has now run fine for perhaps 100 hours in total without any leaks.I ordered one of these a couple of years ago, and got a decent amount of use out of it before it died. When I ordered a replacement of the same item, I noticed the price had dropped considerably. Turns out these items are now made in China. The replacement pump lasted a few hours before springing a large leak. I then ordered a second pump of the same model, with the same result -it sprang a leak after a few hours' use at the same location (where the two halves of the housing meet).So, save your money - even though the price of these pumps has gone down, they're absolutely not worth buying at any price.
