Fan Speed Control Less intuitive and cumbersome to use

Let's start by saying that it works. I bought a Hunter fan (pull wire version). Installation is difficult for a non-electrician, especially if your box is small and no neutral wire can be found. It would be better if the fan speed was more controlled by a separate knob. The push-hold technique is slow and cumbersome, switching the speed from the lowest to the highest takes a few seconds. Also for Smartthings users, the default fan interface is very slow and sluggish. It takes a few seconds to register a state change, speed is also an up-down button that requires you to double-tap from lowest to highest fan speed. The default auto also doesn't allow you to adjust the speed, you can only toggle it on and off, no fan speed. There seems to be an option for webcore to change the stage (fan speed), so maybe I can program the button interface for each speed. Currently, the cumbersome fan speed controls prevent me from putting 5 on this fan switch.

Pros
  • Switch Upgrade - A simple replacement for any standard wall switch to remotely turn the ceiling fan on and off and adjust the speed levels - high, medium and low - of the ceiling fan.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
