Review on Grant 1909 Leather Steering Installation by Dhoal Black

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expected better from Grant

Overall this is a very nice steering wheel but the quality doesn't match the price. inside a plastic bag. There were NO installation instructions. I was able to find 3rd party videos on the internet of installing the wheel myself for my 1981 Jeep CJ7, but nothing specific from Grant for my application or especially hooking up the horn. I've searched for over an hour and found some information but unfortunately I still can't get the beep to work. The Jeep horn cover has to be removed to fit the wheel and that's when I noticed that the holes drilled for the cover were poorly drilled and poorly aligned. 3 of the 5 cover screws came out with difficulty as you can see in the 3rd photo, this is due to the holes not being drilled in the right place or cleanly. They didn't remove any steering wheel chips before shipping which leads me to believe they didn't do a quality check before shipping to disappoint the buyer. I have already removed my previous steering wheel and settled on this one. definitely. I didn't want to go to the trouble of reinstalling the old wheel for this installation and then removing it again with a (necessary) steering wheel puller. Note: As shown in the second picture, this wheel is flat. which differs from the standard wheel (shown in the last photo). I really like the look of this bike but I am definitely disappointed in the quality and lack of instructions from Grant.
