Review on πŸ“ž Uniden CLX-485: Premium 5.8 GHz Expandable Cordless Phone with Color LCD, Answering System, Caller ID, and Dual Keypads by Hannah Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent overall with some minor imperfections

I bought this phone to replace my Siemens multi line phone system. Siemens was great but had terrible problems with my 2.4 wireless network. Uniden at 5.8GHz has no network issues at all. I'll break it down like this. Good: No problems with WiFi. Color display and backlit keyboard. Phones with speakerphone and speakerphone. battery life and appearance. No range issues (as mentioned by others). Outlook numbers are generally not entered with a ten-digit one of ten, as they normally should. Most cell phone providers have already figured this out. Vtech in the same class has solved this problem well by giving you area code options, so you can choose with or without. Uniden does not have this option. Support said you need to enter the number in your contacts before importing. If you haven't already, you're going to spend quite a bit of time adding "1" for every number in your contact list. and Red ial, but no know-how. To dial a 10-digit incoming long distance number from CID, you need to press the "*" key, which adds a "1" after which you can dial the number. This fact is not found anywhere in the manual and had to be found by searching the FAQ pages on the website. Phone Book Capacity: This phone can store 100 names and 400 numbers. At first glance this seems sufficient, but you will be surprised when you start importing all your contacts. I also like to import business and trade contacts, but that would definitely push my limit. I find it odd that much smaller cell phones can store up to 600 numbers and names and more, but cordless phones still fall short. In total, Vtech only has 100, I don't know anything about Panasonic. These are my biggest complaints and one that seemingly could easily be fixed with a firmware update. Other than that, this phone is great. Great clarity, lots of features and great reception. This phone is also cheaper than any other phone on the market with similar features. If you can fix small dialing errors, you'll love this phone as much as I do.
