Avoid problems with headphones

tl;dr: They're great when they work. But in 8 months I had actually spoiled two of them. I've had two pairs of these headphones in the past 8 months. In short, for the first couple, they stopped taking responsibility. They turn on and off but don't charge and keep beeping "low battery" no matter what charger or cable I plug them into. I contacted Grado regarding this and was told my only option was to send them in and pay for the required service as the warranty had expired. It didn't sound like a great plan because I use these headphones daily and they wouldn't work for me for at least 3 weeks. I bought a new set of Revain and thought that was it. 6 weeks later and this pair won't turn on anymore. Charging LED does not light up when plugged in. Completely bricked up. This pair is still under warranty but I'm still without them for at least 3 weeks while they get repaired (or more likely just replaced). Now for normal working, I love these headphones when they work. These aren't the best sounding headphones out there, but they are Bluetooth. They sound good enough that I rarely feel the need to use other (better sounding) headphones. Wireless comfort wins in most cases. They're also incredibly uncomfortable with their over-ear headphones out of the box (at least for me). I replaced the stock pads with GS1000i pads and the issue was resolved. It turned them into in-ear headphones and I can wear them for 16 hours all day and have no problems. The power on and off tones are absurdly loud (to the point that I take them off to turn them on/off because they are so loud). The low battery sound is very annoying, instead of telling you the battery is low when it hits a certain percentage and then again waiting for it to get even lower, it repeats the beep about once a minute. This is very annoying (and again, unbearably loud) and renders the headphones unusable until they are recharged. I get about a full day of battery life from them. I can last most of the second day but towards the end of the second day the low battery beep starts and I have to take them off and let them charge as they become unusable once the low battery beep goes on. These issues are annoying, but definitely not a deal breaker. The reliability issue is a deal breaker and I will not be buying another pair of these sneakers.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
