I would recommend this kit as a good starter kit but I would also recommend doing a left hand drawing with printed colors on a canvas or grid showing where Colors should be used but not the same other at the same time. Once you start a method, stick with it. I work with the grid myself as most canvases are labeled incorrectly with the correct color. I love the thickness and softness of the yarn, but wish I could make something with different weights of yarn, some too long and some so short that they can't be used and thrown away. Consistency in yarn count is key to a beautiful rug, cushion or tapestry.
