ATTENTION: 2020 changed ingredients! Now mainly alcohol, BHT, dye and citric acid

I have been a dedicated and grateful Nizoral user for decades. My immune system is not very good and I am particularly sensitive to mold and mildew. This shampoo has helped me keep my scalp healthy without the burning, itching or soreness that the harshest antifungal shampoos can cause. BUT IT HAS CHANGED. Around April 2020, I discovered that the Nizoral company had changed the formula of their shampoo to include primarily citric acid, dye, alcohol and butylated hydroxytoluene. Even the taste is different. In short, they sold out and discounted the product at my expense. I can't stand all this acid on my scalp. This can also worry you. For me the difference between day and night. The shampoo makes my skin sting as soon as I apply it to my scalp. It itches as it dries and leaves sores at the hairline. I have allergies and I have to assume that the change caused the aggravation. But if you find that Nizoral isn't the same anymore, you're not alone. Note that this company has blocked the human market for ketoconazole. The only ketoconazole shampoos are for pets and they may contain other ingredients that can be corrosive to humans (I wonder why we put them on pets).
