Review on 📺 Renewed TiVo Bolt VOX 500GB for Cable or Antenna, Includes Lifetime (All-in) Service ($549 Value), 4K UHD, 4 Tuners, Voice Control (TCD849500V) by Eric Smithlin

Firstly I have TiVo models that are almost 20 years old and am very familiar with Bolt service and model. I chose this deal because it offers a lifetime subscription service for much less than TiVo charges directly. However, my joy at this "deal" quickly ended when I attempted to install this device. Two problems quickly surfaced: 1) The remote was not working 2) The activation code that came with the device was listed as "already used". You CANNOT complete the installation without a valid code. I diagnosed the problem with the remote control as dead batteries (they came with the unit). Worked fine after I installed new ones. I noticed that the batteries that came with the device were covered with clear household tape - a sure sign that the device was returned by the consumer in this condition and was not checked by the 'Upgrade' technical team before shipping it to me. I called Revain. and was quickly put through to a support specialist who seemed very pleasant and knowledgeable (I had hope). He stopped me and came back with bad news - Tivo support was closed and won't open until 12pm my time the next day. (Don't TiVo understand that the world doesn't revolve around its schedule?) Well, I'm still dead in the water. The Revain tech offered to call me back when TiVo reopens tomorrow, but I'm fed up with this "updated" hardware experience. I am returning the device for a refund. Definitely a sour taste from my experience with a vendor (Weaknees) who clearly didn't do a quality job of reviewing this device. Very poor workmanship and poor support. I'm still a TiVo fan and in the process of reactivating my old device.
