Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great product, but there are a few minor issues to watch out for

Pros:1. I received the package at my doorstep quickly and in perfect condition. It was packed in about 5 smaller boxes, all inside an Amazon box. The first thing that struck me was that the packaging was neat and easy to unwrap.2. Once installed I was able to comfortably train my two dogs for about two weeks after one on one training session (I have two dogs), even after a minor mistake where I accidentally electrocuted my dog before he understood what training was. so she was a bit scared to even be around him.3. Customer service was very responsive when I had to call them for further training advice to ensure I was getting the best of it, which they were more than happy to help with. Now for the cons: 1. The instructions that come with the system are vague at best. I had to search and research a lot on the internet to make sure I'm doing it right. Only one sheet of paper was provided containing the most basic instructions on how to get the system working.2. The system only came with a couple of sod staples, so I recommend buying about 3 times more than listed so you don't have to stop digging while you're ordering more. The same goes for flags. You need to order LOTS of these as they will be the most important part of the training.3. One of my biggest concerns is the surge protector and control box. The wires you need to run into both the surge protector and the control box and surge protector are NOT suitable. I recommend soldering them in place otherwise your dogs safety depends on sticking with cheap mounts. Also, the power adapter that goes from the control box to the surge protector has a terrible fit and I had to tweak it to stay plugged in at all. I've seen many other reviews on this subject, so I'm not sure why the company hasn't done anything about this issue yet. One of the two collars that came with the system for both of my dogs shocked the dog multiple times when inside and off the wire. I contacted customer service and the first thing they said was that dogs shouldn't wear collars in the house. So I guess if they come out it doesn't matter if you have a fence. I asked for a replacement collar and was denied.5. Finally, the collars provided are cheaply made and do not have an identification tag attached. However, the receivers themselves, which are on the collars, appear to be quite durable and the batteries last a long time. All in all, the system does the job for less than half the cost that a commercial company would install for you. I feel my dogs are fully trained and we are ready to go.
