Very easy to install. Be sure to lift the base clamp up a bit before removing it from the canister body. And take your time with the clamp on the cable connector. Mine was very light and loose, but this piece will see through what your car's bottom is doing, whatever the weather. There is nothing strange about them being filled with sand, mud or salt. If it seems dry and dirty and maybe a little stuck in there, I suggest you spray some WD-40 or some other penetrating oil spray on it. Move the plug slightly. The oil moves between the trapped bits and releases it fairly quickly in most cases. A little rubber grease with your pinky on the new o-ring doesn't hurt either, but let's face it. You probably won't have a car if it breaks down again. They say it's mostly because you're trying to fill your car up completely with every drop of gas you can get your hands on. Who knows.lol. Turn a quarter a little until you hear or see the bar click into place and you're done! Make sure the seal doesn't pop out. Reconnect and done!
