problems? Accessories and consumables

Has anyone else experienced the following?: First about twenty used in a stack of 100 discs with no problems, then (so far) at least 30 defective discs after the rest hadn't been used for several months. After several attempts to isolate the problem, I traced it back to blank CD-Rs. I had the exact same issue with another brand that was replaced with these TDKs. Is there an unwritten expiration date for blank CD-Rs or am I just unlucky?
