You better be a pro when using any of these. The recoil will most likely rip the cutter or workpiece right out of your hand and possibly into your throat. This is my first experience with a twist drill and if you think about it, the upward spiral should be orders of magnitude safer. If I ever try to use a downward cutting helix again, it will be on a router table with a mechanical limit and work feed.
