Why is potty training easy for some and difficult for others? Is it a method? Is it a parenting style? Is it a parent or a child? I tend to think there's a little bit of everything, but I certainly don't pretend to be an expert. My 3.5 year old son's potty training was exhausting. We started a year ago and thank god we're almost there. As you read this review, you're probably wondering if the Pampers Advanced Feel 'n Learn Trainers helped or hindered this process. Maybe my expectations for these pants were too high, but they seem to be the glorified diapers that stretch. Of course, my child may be unusually stubborn. The Feel 'n Learn Advanced shoe makes kids feel wet. Well, not for long, anyway, but once my son was soaked he went about his usual business of playing. I believe ALL pull ups are the same as wearing diapers except for the freedom to choose to pull them up or down, so why use a potty? Also, I found that these sneakers are not suitable for the night. I've tried this several times and found that the bed is very damp in the morning. The tear-off pages are also less convenient. Other Pampers pull-ups, Easy-Up, are more absorbent; However, I prefer the huggies pull-ups. They have easy-open pages that are much more convenient than tear-off pages. Several times, William accidentally stepped on his pants, tearing them. At this price point, I'm not throwing away immaculate pull-ups. So I had to staple the pages together. This doesn't happen with Huggie's pull-ups because they lock back up. So the important question is whether or not the Sensation pad helped with the potty transition. In my opinion no. William liked the design of Spider-Man and Hulk, but the wetness indicators didn't matter. If he's wet, he knows it, and he doesn't care if spiders, numbers, or planets disappear. Do I recommend equipment for advanced Feel 'n Learn or not? There are two situations where I think they could be useful. The first is for night training. My neighbor is 5.5 years old and has been potty trained for 3 years but still wets the bed at night. If Pampers released these shoes in a larger size, they might be suitable for such workouts. Second, if you have a kid who trains quickly and doesn't like the feeling of getting wet, then these shoes could be for you. Otherwise, save your money and skip those pants.
