Don't trust the size.
I have a 38 inch belt that I have worn for years. Put it on and the two ends barely touch. I sent this one back and bought a 42 thinking if all their belts had the same measurement system I would get what I wanted. About 4 inches to the first hole. So I got a 42" belt. Great for the first hole. I like the belt. It was worth all the effort. I have no idea how they use different sizing than other belts. I'm just wondering if anyone knows. But they can be outmaneuvered.

- It turned out smaller than I expected. I wear size 34, bought size 36 and it barely fit. All round good belt
