Summary: I love this hitch lock pin. I use it to lock my hitch bike rack to the back of my 2004 Ford Explorer with a 1.25" receiver. Fairly easy to install (see my concerns below) - No manufacturing defects. - Sturdy and no play in the standard 1.25" receiver pin hole on my truck. The Bad: - When I bought this locking pin, I didn't realize that to unlock the trailer pin you had to insert the key and then unscrew the key cylinder to unlock the pin from the trailer. (that's not fast) -- Better put, this product works much like a safety nut, the wrench is a wrench that unscrews the cylinder (nut) from the bolt that threads into the pin. TL;DR - I take some time and a little fiddly to remove this pin from the clutch. - The cap that closes the cylinder that you put the key in is made of fairly hard plastic that is likely to fail in either cold weather or normal exposure to the sun. , making the keyhole vulnerable to dirt ingress. Other thoughts: - I don't see any obvious reasons for failure that would cause this hitch pin to fail.
