I've used T-Nuts for decades to mount gear on my plywood perches where below deck access with a wrench is extremely difficult. The first time I only used galvanized ones and had to grind down the head of the bolt due to solid rust from the wet environment. After that it became all stainless steel and never had any problems. Simply hand tighten the nut until it makes firm contact with the plywood, then tighten the bolt from the top. Tighten regularly to allow the teeth to penetrate deeper into the wood. This is a low price for great convenience.
