This jug is made of borosilicate glass, which is stronger, clearer, thinner and more durable than most types of glass. It is resistant to temperature changes, but not completely tight. It says it can be used on the stove but I haven't checked. I've used it for cold and hot drinks, as well as brewing hot tea, then chilled it for iced tea. I love that the opening at the top is big enough to put my hand through so it's super easy to clean. And it has an elegant simple shape and fits well in my fridge. The lid can be rotated if you want to leave it open while pouring. The lid doesn't provide a complete seal, so expect a few drips if you shake the jug vigorously with the liquid inside.
