Pen housing made of conductive plastic!
After soldering the other end I tested this end, there was resistance at this end so I disconnected it and found that the plastic body of the pin is conductive. I thought I was hallucinating but I kept checking, I'm getting readings of around 400 megohms on the body of the pen. I even tried 2 other multimeters.
