Review on Continental ContiVikingContact 7 205/55 R16 94T winter by Adam Rymko ᠌

A really necessary purchase, Im glad I found this product.

You know, I have not received such positive emotions from winter tires for a very long time. I had a studded ekogama, miserable cordians, an indistinct henkook Velcro, after which I vowed never to buy Velcro. With the car got Toyo g3 studded, good enough. But compared to these continentals, all that was, all this is amno, even if you make allowances for the spikes. On the Continental, I strongly noticed the complete absence of noise from the rubber. In urban mode, one gets the impression that there are no wheels, only the crunch of snow gives out, but this is if there is snow. Rubber has good softness, unevenness and cracks in the asphalt, especially poor expansion joints on bridges runs much quieter and softer than Toyo. The movement in the city mode is very confident, I am sometimes afraid that when braking, the rear car can catch up with me. Once I had to slow down, the whole cabin flew forward, even my wife noticed that we had very good brakes. On a country road, where there is a lot of rolled snow, the rubber behaves amazingly, providing excellent grip. I had a chance to watch how the outlander tried to drive up a small but very steep hill, skidding and rolling down from it. I was also worried that there would be problems, but when driving uphill into tightness, not one wheel even slipped. In my experience, Toyo would skid like crazy even if it was new. Checked on clean ice, well what can I say. Ice is not hers, but I note that braking is smooth, without skidding, and when driving, it is felt that the car is moving quite confidently. That gives at least some calmness in maneuvers. I will also say that not every studded tire will perform well on clean ice. conclusion. 1. The price is high, but it fully justifies itself and not a bit of regret about the money spent. 2. Rubber confidently shows itself in urban mode, whether it is snow porridge with reagents or asphalt. 3. No rubber will give you 100% controllability on ice, whatever you say, on ice you need to slow down and increase the distance.

Pros
  • Quiet, very quiet Excellent grip in the snow, whether loose or hard packed
Cons
  • On the ice, you need to drive more slowly, but we don’t constantly drive on the winter road in order to worry about it a lot.
