It took my feet about a month to get used to the trail. I still have occasional pain in different areas of the foot but it goes away throughout the day once the foot is closer to the insole. I work 10 hours a day, rarely sit and I am very happy with that. The grip is phenomenal. I bought them when Keene was going downhill to keep his feet from hurting at work. I thought Birkenstock was an advertisement, but I did a little research and discovered that there is a whole science behind the cork layer. This forces your legs to return to their natural walking position. I bought Birk sandals so I can always walk with the right foot position. Now I'm a Birk supporter!
