Bought this case a few weeks ago for my new Nexus 7 (2013) for $3 on delivery. For the price I'd say the case was worth it just for a bit of protection but it doesn't live up to my expectations. First off, this is advertised as a "dual-view" case, meaning it should work as a stand in both portrait and landscape modes, right? Not correct. While you can change orientation, the stand doesn't support the weight of the tablet (which is actually pretty light) in portrait mode (it works well in landscape mode). Next, the "skin" of the case is actually more like foam. Definitely a cheaper alternative, and while that's to be expected, turned out to be a little cheaper than I imagined. Then there's the smell. When I took it out of the plastic wrapper, the smell was immediately noticeable, almost like a gooey plastic smell (after typing that I'm going to rip open the window and put a fan on it). The case has a few extra slots for some memory cards, but it's actually pretty pointless to even fit them in as the Nexus 7 is all flash storage (memory cards are not accepted) - I think this is left over from another iteration case for stayed another tablet. Finally, a stylus was included, which was nice, but I feel the stylus was too big (in width) for the case itself. Luckily I had a better one, a smaller one, which fits well. However, while the stylus is plugged in, you can't reach the volume buttons, so using the case without the stylus might be better for some. As for the good qualities of the case, it has magnets and does an excellent job of unlocking the screen as well as closing the lid. The magnets aren't as strong as we'd like, but they do their job. Landscape mode works great when using the case as a stand - that's all you need. It also serves its purpose as a folio case to protect the screen when the lid is closed. At $3 with shipping I would recommend this case if someone is looking for protection for their new tablet, but for over $3 I'll do.
