I've only been using this for a week but how much time and frustration. Now it is very easy to accurately measure the height of the table saw blade. It's made of durable plastic with a base wide enough to stand perfectly upright. The measuring tip is made of hardened steel, so it cannot be damaged by the teeth of the saw blade. My only complaint is that the battery holder flips over when taken out of the box to prevent draining the battery while in the box. But it doesn't say that anywhere on the packaging. The battery holder doesn't look out of place when placed upside down so I opened up the second battery (2 spares included) thinking the battery in the device was dead because they won't "turn on" leaves. After about 10 minutes of fiddling (when the second battery didn't work either) I looked into the battery compartment and found that the contact was on the bottom of the case and the battery holder had the contact on top as received. Flipping the battery compartment solved the problem. One sentence would have been enough to save worry and wasted time. Otherwise, the device seems to serve its purpose very well. I look forward to further applications and in particular the ability to measure the depth of corners.
