I used the buffing head on my poodle for the first time and it was easy to assemble and use on my 4 year old dog. But I didn't understand the heads screwed into the head of the handle. I thought they were popping and popping and when trying to remove the polishing head I pulled the rubber cap off the screw mount. They don't sell replacement parts, but the company completely replaced the whole set for me. Thank you for your great support and help with my dilemma! It's a great cleaning tool and it's not noisy so my dog was as comfortable as possible when I tried to brush his teeth! It even gets into hard-to-reach places!
