My UE Wonderboom (received as a gift last year) stopped working and I jumped at the excuse of finding something better (never cared about the sound). I've had a Sony SRS-X5 (@SONY please bring it back!) for years and was hoping to find something with similar sound but better portability. At first I was a bit disappointed with the XB23 but after digging into the music center and speaker placement a bit I fell in love with this speaker for what it is. I get an impressively warm and rich sound from this little guy (B+5, M-2, T=0) but only when I keep the volume on my phone (Galaxy S9) between 1/3 and ยฝ. This would work great as a street speaker on business trips, but I wouldn't take it on hikes, picnics, or even at home. I am thinking of trying XB33 or XB43 to see if they are better (but those crappy lights!). produce a really nice sound (only small passive radiators can handle that). If you're looking for something small to keep the volume down (like in a hotel room) this is perfect. If you're looking for something to enjoy music outside or with friends, I'd say keep looking. "That's just my two cents, and I appreciate other people's contributions. Thank you for reading!
