Review on Honeywell Performance Area Imaging Scanner Standard by Ryan Reiter

I wanted to replace my battered and worn out Symbol DS scanner that has been through a lot (but still works!) line scanner over the last decade. I chose the Honeywell Extreme Performance series. I am very disappointed: the scanner itself looks like cheap plastic. No durable rubber; If the item is dropped, it will likely break. - Dual scan occurs quite often with default settings. - Scanning speed and angle are slow and delicate. I use a scanner holder and it can sometimes be difficult to get a clear barcode to scan. I was hoping to be able to scan many books at high speed, but unfortunately that doesn't live up to the bill. The rest of the scanner works. I truly believe that this product is not a best in class scanner and nobody should pay for it. price tag for it.
