For the money the device gives excellent results. It's easy to set up and incredibly easy to use, although it doesn't come with a simplified, full-color US manual. As already noted, the SD card is not included in the scope of delivery, but is required for the operation of the device, so order it at the same time if you don't have it to hand. All images are scanned directly to the SD card and cannot be viewed in real time on a PC. After scanning images, you can select PC from the device menu and open/import files to PC via USB. Slide feeder is a real problem unless your slides are flat and in good condition. In that case, forget to stack them. I'm not deducting a star for this as it works as intended with good flat rails in good condition. If this becomes a problem for you, you can also use the included slide film drawer. I like the ability to adjust the contrast in real-time during the scan without having to go into the menu, but I also found that the contrast adjustment was a mistake most of the time unless the slide was very, very dark. The images appear less bright/clear on the device screen than the actual scan. I hardly noticed any difference in image quality between the 5MP and 10MP scans, so I decided to scan everything with the 5MP camera in case I decide to edit anything in the future. I'm sure there will be a few devices that aren't quite cutting edge like every device made, but in my opinion this device is solid and costs $50. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone who just wants to cheaply digitize their collection of home slides before they crumble to dust. If you have money and can afford more than of course, choose more and better. Otherwise it will be rendered very nicely.
