I bought this RAM for my Synology DS918 NAS in August 2019 as it was highly recommended by other reviewers. I installed it and everything was perfect ---- until a week ago (June 2020). I had DSM reset error (Synology OS) several times. Synology first informed me that one of my hard drives had failed. I spent days isolating the failed drive, but concluded that the drives were fine. I asked for an RMA and they asked me to resubmit the user log. This time the rep said it was memory errors. I showed him which memory I bought (4GB version) and he said that it is basically inevitable that I will have a DSM error in the long run because the memory is not approved for the device. I removed the RAM update and left them on their RAM drive and that seems to have fixed my issue. Oooooh, was that a RAM or NAS error? I leave it to you, dear reader. I would like to mention that the DSM error caused the RAID to fail, which fortunately only affected two of the four drives.
