If you need to vacuum a lot, and the filter clogs quickly, then I can recommend compressed air. In the bath, gently shake off excess dust, and then blow out the remaining dust with compressed air. It is better not to wash it, as the dust then settles in lumps on the filter and the filter itself quickly begins to become unusable.
