Ok wow. I am deeply impressed by these shopping bags. I took a chance because there were no reviews so I was willing to return them if needed. I got 2 today and went shopping straight away. As a 26-year-old man living alone, I don't buy much. So I didn't stuff them as full as I could. At first I was a little scared because I saw the bottom was sewn so I was scared they would tear but after loading my products I wasn't scared. The material is similar to a paper leather flight jacket: same thickness, strength and texture. It obviously stands by itself when you pack your groceries inside. The pens are actually SUPER good. They are elastic, soft and resemble a stuffed animal. They are elastic because they balance the weight of the bags: in the photos, one weighs 9 pounds and the other weighs 11 pounds. I definitely felt safe carrying them from the store to my car. One thing that might be holding you back is that you are short. I'm 6'0" and the handles allowed the bags to stretch to the point where they were about 3" off the ground. To be honest it was SO beautiful. I usually carry cheap plastic bags that strain my arms. lose weight when I buy my regular products (like this batch). So I was glad that I felt more than comfortable with them. Haven't tried washing them but will update this when I do. 10/10 Have already bought 2 more.
