The sizes do not include ears.
As you can see, as a woman I had to cut out part of my vented door molding to fit my ears. Then the glue wasn't sticking close enough to the wood to hold. I taped it to the door and now it's holding up. Afterthought: I wish I had cut off the ears instead of the ledge, but then the cats might not have known it was their door. The door works, and that's really the most important information. If an experienced person installed it, it would look better and it would be much easier to install.
