I set up a 2.1 desktop a long time ago. Paradigm Titan V2, Dayton Sub-1000 connected to a Pioneer SX-10AE. I've been using Amazon Basics 12 gauge speaker wire all along and knew I should upgrade to a higher gauge at some point. The holidays were coming and I got some Revain gift cards from family so I figured 2 of these 12 inch cables would cost around $40. I just hooked them up tonight and didn't expect that much of a difference. . Immediately I noticed a significant improvement in clarity. Before, I felt the speakers were a bit muddy in the center and lacking in clarity, but immediately after playing some of my first "test" songs at a moderate volume, the clarity improved dramatically. What I was expecting based on other reviews was an increase in power and bass clarity. And that is largely correct. My receiver allows a range of low and high frequencies from -5 to +5. With the old wires, the bookshelves worked from +1 to +2 depending on the music. Now they sound perfect at -2. Although the bass (only in numbers) is reduced, it sounds clearer, more powerful and faster. I didn't expect that much of an improvement from a $40 wire. I thought, based on a lot of what i read it was snake oil and maybe the wires are super overpriced but they are worth the money! I can take two more to hook up my EV-15 RTRs as I prefer bi-amping. In terms of processing quality, these wires are very well made, you can just feel that. There is no loss in a solder joint. Excellent purchase!
