Another great game from Educational Insights….and I use them all. Check out any occupational or speech room and you will find many of their games on the shelves. My students request them over and over…….The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game, Shelbys Snack Shack, Freida’s Fruit Fiesta and the most requested, Frankie’s Food Truck Fiasco.Pete the Cat is an excellent addition. The rules are simple but the educational benefits numerous. Children take turns and try and fill up their card with the five matching buttons. Along the way, anything can happen. You might have to remove all your buttons or give one to a friend. Not only does this game encourage waiting your turn and following the rules but helps with self-regulation. It’s not always easy to start again when you’re a preschooler. The adorable cat tongs are my favorite. They are not as loose as some of the other tongs and easily pick up the buttons. If held correctly tongs encourage a tripod pencil grasp and are a prerequisite to cutting with scissors. Pete the Cat also helps with color and shape recognition in such as clever fashion. More appropriate for a younger child, (3 and up) then some of the above listed games. Great for the house, classroom and occupational and speech rooms.
