Review on ๐Ÿ“ Stanley 33-726 26' 4" Fractional Measuring Tape by Larry Simpson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well but two flaws make it less than perfect

This is a quality tape measure that does the job well. I'm renovating in preparation for selling a house and have been using it multiple times a day for several weeks. I like it a lot more than the tape it replaced for two reasons: the metric markings are incredibly useful for precision work that doesn't require the mental gymnastics of a 32-inch conversion, and the wider blade consoles extend much further without assistance. I just finished ordering cabinet doors and drawer fronts which required great precision and it worked great. Why only four stars? Two reasons. First, there's no reason they couldn't print additional labels on the back, like some rules do. It's a premium rule at a premium price, so they were on a budget and other Stanley models have these markings on the back, usually rotated to make measuring height or distance from the ceiling easier. Second, my previous rule had a finely calibrated case that was exactly 2.5 inches long, which allowed me to squeeze the case into a corner and get accurate measurements. This case is blank and does not have the rectangular back required for this use. If I had noticed that before buying, I might have bought a different model. Pretty much every tape measure I've seen, including many Stanley models, has this mark on the barrel!

Cons
